The fund was launched in March 1997 and as of 31 July 2022, had a fund size of £1,091.42m. The Fund will invest at least 90% in shares of emerging market companies. They focus on the long-term (5 years+) when investing.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMS) – representing 9.7% of the fund – is a Taiwanese multinational semiconductor contract manufacturing and design company. It is the world’s most valuable semiconductor company, the world’s largest dedicated independent (pure-play) semiconductor foundry and one of Taiwan’s largest companies with its headquarters and main operations located in Hsinchu.
Tencent Holdings Ltd – representing 5.7% of the fund – is a Chinese multinational technology and entertainment conglomerate and holding company headquartered in Shenzhen. It is one of the highest grossing multimedia companies in the world based on revenue. It is also the largest company in the video game industry in the world based on its investments.
Reliance Industries Limited – representing 4.4% of the fund – is an Indian multinational conglomerate company, headquartered in Mumbai. It has diverse businesses including energy, petrochemicals, natural gas, retail, telecommunications, mass media, and textiles. Reliance is one of the most profitable companies in India and the largest company in India as measured by revenue.
