This fund is used within our Pentatonic 3-8 portfolios and represents between 6-12% of the asset spread within them.

The fund was launched in March 2010 and as of 31 July 2022, had a fund size of £860.22m.    The global nature of the portfolio also helps diversify the Fund’s income stream. Baillie Gifford focus on long-term growth and income, rather than short-term yield, because they believe this will deliver better outcomes for their clients over time.

Novo Nordisk – representing 4.09% of the fund – is a Danish multinational pharmaceutical company.  Novo Nordisk manufactures and markets pharmaceutical products and services specifically diabetes care medications and devices. Novo Nordisk is also involved with haemostasis management, growth hormone therapy and hormone replacement therapy.  Novo Nordisk employs more than 48,000 people globally and markets its products in 168 countries.

UPS – representing 3.71% of the fund – United Parcel Service is an American multinational shipping & receiving and supply chain management company founded in 1907.  UPS is the largest courier company in the world by revenue, with annual revenues around US$85 billion in 2020, ahead of competitors DHL and FedEx.

Procter & Gamble – representing 3.21% of the fund – specialises in a wide range of personal health/consumer health, personal care and hygiene products.  It was created in 1937 when English candlemaker William Procter, and Irish soap maker James Gamble, both emigrated to the US and started the company.  In 2016 and 2017, P&G was recognized as one of Forbes World’s Most Reputable Companies and as of mid-2020, the board of P&G consisted of an equal number of men and women.
